I read that the limit to the number of contacts is 2000. If that's still the case then my request is to raise the limit. I'm trying to sync my customers to my iphone and 2000 isn't enough. I need over 4000 now and it grows by 100 per month.

The limit isn't something we are enforcing. It is an estimate of how many contacts can be safely synced due to memory issues on the iPhone and the way data about contacts is retrieved from Gmail. I've actually successfully synced over 4000 contacts. However, it depends on the data each contact has and where the majority of the contacts exist (on the iPhone vs on Gmail). I don't recall all the factors but it may work or it may run out of memory and crash. We do not guarantee that it will work for that many contacts, so it is a use at your own risk scenario when you get into that many contacts.
