Introduction
|
Links in a Blink is designed to easily access your Google™ Gmail™ bookmarks from your Apple® iPhone™ or iPod™.
All you need to get started is a Gmail account.
|
Settings
|
Before you can begin using Links In A Blink,
you must enter your Gmail account settings. If you have not
entered these settings when you start the application, you will be taken to the
settings page. On the settings page, you must enter your Gmail email address
and password. We do not store these credentials anywhere other than on the iPhone itself.
In addition to saving your Gmail credentials, you also have the following Options:
Immediately open links in Safari - By default, when you tap on a bookmark in the application,
the bookmark will be shown using an embedded browser. If you would like to
immediately view your bookmark in Safari instead, turn this option on. (Please note that you can still launch the bookmark in
Safari using the embedded browser.)

Downloading Bookmarks
|
After you have entered your credentials in the Settings, you can now download your Google Bookmarks to your device. Every time you
initiate a download, you will be asked to log in to your Google account. Once logged in, your latest bookmarks will be downloaded and they will overwrite any bookmarks
that were previously downloaded.
To begin a download, tap the "Sync" button. This will bring you to a page to login to your Google account. The Gmail credentials that you
entered on the Settings page will be automatically filled on this page. Click on the "Sign In" button. Once you have signed in, your bookmarks
will be automatically downloaded and added to your iPhone/iPod.
NOTE: If you change your Gmail email in the Settings page, your previous Gmail email may still show up when you go to the login page. If this
is the case, click on the link "Sign in as a different user". Once you click on the link, the login page will refresh itself with your new credentials filled in.

Viewing Bookmarks by Labels
|
|
To view your bookmarks by label, tap on the Labels tab in the bottom toolbar. Tapping on a label from the list will show you all of the bookmarks
associated with that label. Bookmarks that aren't labeled will show up under "Unlabeled". Tapping on a bookmark will display it in the embedded browser or Safari.
|
|
Viewing Recently Updated Bookmarks
|
|
To view the bookmarks that you most recently updated, tap on the Recent tab in the bottom toolbar. This screen will display the last 200 bookmarks that you have recently updated.
Tapping on a bookmark will display it in the embedded browser or Safari.

Searching for Bookmarks
|
|
To find a bookmark by name or URL, tap on the Search tab in the bottom toolbar. In the search box, just type in your query and hit Search. The search finds bookmarks
with the same name or URL as your query. A maximum of 200 results are shown for a single query and results are sorted by most recently updated.
Tapping on a bookmark will display it in the embedded browser or Safari.

|
Embedded Browser
|
By default, bookmarks will be shown in the application's embedded browser. This can be incredibly useful if you want to view a handful of bookmarks without
launching in and out of Safari and Links in a Blink. The embedded browser is a mini version of the Safari browser. You can refresh the current page, stop loading the current page,
and move backward/forward in your page history. By tapping on the More Actions (the button furthest to the right), you can also email a friend the URL of the current page or
open the current page in Safari.
If you want to disable the embedded browser, change your preferences in the Settings.
